How To Stream Videos From Membership Website To Your TV

There are a LOT of ways to stream or “cast” videos from our membership website to your TV.

Each of these different ways is based on the type of device and the type of TV. There is not one standard way of doing it since the types of technology varies so widely.

LAPTOP TO TV (PREFERRED METHOD)

One way to stream video to your TV is to use an HDMI cable connected from your laptop to your TV. This will provide both video and audio playback from your laptop to your TV.

Here’s how to use your laptop to stream video to your TV:

Connect the HDMI cable from your laptop input to your TV input.
Using the “Source” button on your remote (or TV), toggle through the available inputs and select the HDMI option that is activated from your laptop.
You should now see a mirrored image of your laptop screen on your TV.
Open your internet browser and pull up the video you want to watch.

APPLE DEVICE TO TV

AirPlay is Apple’s wireless streaming technology that allows you to mirror your device to an AirPlay receiver connected to your TV. The most popular AirPlay receiver is the Apple TV.

Using AirPlay will allow you to project your device screen on your TV, with sound included.

MIRROR DEVICE SCREEN USING A WIRED ADAPTER

A wired adapter will provide a direct connection between your mobile device and your TV (similar to connecting your laptop to your TV).

You will need to get an adapter that is specific to your device input and your TV input.

Micro USB

TV INPUTS MAY INCLUDE:

HDMI (screen + sound)
VGA (screen only, no sound)
Display Port (screen + sound)

SAMSUNG DEVICE TO SAMSUNG TV

If you have a Samsung device, and a Samsung TV, you may have the ability built into your device to mirror your mobile device to your TV. Check your TV settings to see if this ability is included.

If the above suggestions are not quite working out, you can do a Google search for “cast to [TV name] using [device name]”. This will provide specific instructions based on the type of device that you are using, and the type of TV you are casting to.
